OPERATION I.D.
The Osakis Police Department offers Operation ID.
This is a free program that helps owners mark their
property for identification. When a person signs up
for Operation ID, they are given an identification
number that is unique to that person. That number is
then placed on their valuables to mark them. If the
marked property is ever missing and later recovered,
it is easy to determine who the owner is, based on
the identification number. The number can be placed
on the property with several different marking tools
that are available to borrow from the police
department at no cost. For harder surfaces
(televisions, VCRs, metal objects, etc. we offer
electric engravers. |
