SPECIAL MEETING
PUBLIC HEARING
SEPTEMBER 9, 2002

Mayor Zimmerman called the meeting to order.
Present: Larson, Zimmerman, Hagemann, Astleford
Absent: Emerson
Project # 302 – King Street
The meeting was turned over to Mr. Tom Klemenhagen, Engineer, who presented the overall view of the blacktop and curb and gutter on King Street. He explained how the assessments were figured and how each property owner was affected. Total project cost is $289,558.80 with $217,169.10 being assessed to abutting property owners.
There were 15 residents in attendance most were concerned about the flooding of the King Street area. They felt the water issue should be addressed before the street is blacktopped.
All in attendance objected to the improvement on King Street.
A motion by Astleford seconded by Hagemann to hold off on the King Street improvements for two years and revisit the issue when the property owners submit a certified petition for improvements. All Ayes.
The Public hearing was closed.
Mr. Klemenhagen stated the MnDot would participate totally in the land acquisition, pond area and pipe under trunk Highway 27 to take care of flooding problems on the west end of the city.
Project # 332 – King Street Pond
The King Street Pond project was discussed. The Sauk River Watershed District has submitted contracts for the city to sign.
A motion by Astleford seconded by Larson to have our attorney review the contract before signing. All Ayes.
A motion by Hagemann seconded by Larson to adjourn.
